Contemporary painters from Huelva.
From the sixties to the present, there have been many painters in Huelva, Most of them are almost unknown in our city, but here are some of them:
-Daniel Vázquez Díaz (1882-1969):
The most famous painter from Huelva. He decorated the Monastery of La Rábida with “frescoes”.

-Pedro Gómez (1888-1961):
He was considered the main member of “Huelva’s artists school”. His favourite themes were marshes and “cabezos”, a local geographic formation, similar to a hill.

-Juan Manuel Seisdedos:
His style is a mixture of cubism and abstract painting. He belongs to the “neocubism” trend. His last exhibition is called “Vibrations”. All of his works are full of energy and movement.

-Manuel Calvarro:
Besides being a painter, he is a poet, a sculptor: to sum up, an artist. Check out his “visual poems” and the series called “Hunged ups”. Although he was born in Madrid, he has lived in Huelva since 1975.
